| At
Wywurree we provide a supportive environment and therefore only teach small
groups of up to three service-users at a time allowing us to frequently
work on a 1: 1 ratio. As part of our person centred approach we work with students and carers to establish their personal goals and future training objectives. This enables us to tailor our resources and services around student’s individual needs. This approach has enabled our students to reach their potential, gaining in confidence, self-esteem, as well as developing daily Living Skills. |

| Assessments An initial assessment will be carried out to assess people’s strengths and the areas they will require support. All service-users work towards 'a personalised 4 week plan' which incorporates a meal they have chosen to make. For example if a student has decided to cook spaghetti bolognaise then they will repeat the same steps each session as they work towards achieving this independently. Students can also make a photographic recipe sheet of their chosen meal, which they will be able to use in the future. We use a structured teaching approach known as ‘Forward Chaining’ which enables us to breakdown tasks into manageable and therefore achievable steps. |
